Opinion: Abused and Neglected Children Need Their Own Revolution

Occasionally, we will publish media opinions on aspects of adoption and child welfare that you may never have thought about. This opinion from Australia challenges placement of foster children with relatives of the abusing biological parent. ”I don’t think kids should be fostered with relatives of their birth family, because it gives an opportunity for the abusers to visit. Once you have been abused like that you don’t want contact.”

This alludes again to not using a one-size-fits-all approach.
