Opinion: Case Overload in Child Protective Service Workers

Occasionally, we will link to media opinions on aspects of adoption and child welfare that you may never have thought about. This opinion piece discusses case overloads by child protection workers and the choices that they make in dealing with the overload. In this case they arbitrarily reduced the caseload from 120 to 29.

“Children are the most vulnerable members of society. They depend on the goodwill of adults, unable to control their own destinies. That they should be abused by their parents, or those who are supposed to care for them, is inexcusable. That they should then be failed by the police is simply repugnant.”
