How Could You? Hall of Shame-Kenia Quiala Bosque
This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.
From Opa-Locka, Florida, Kenia Quiala Bosque, 30, was arrested for trying to sell her 8-month-old son to a Monroe County man for $7,000.
The Monroe County man tipped off the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, who in turn got the Florida Department of Law Enforcement involved.
WTSP reports “Working with sheriff’s office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement arranged for an undercover agent to take part in the meeting. Bosque, however, failed to show at the arranged time and place.
Fearing for the child’s safety, sheriff’s deputies and FDLE agents went to Bosque’s home and had enough evidence to make an arrest.
“We are just so glad we were able to obtain this information in time to intervene before anything could happen to endanger this child,” said Sheriff Bob Peryam.
Bosque was booked into the Miami-Dade County jail on Sunday.”
She is being held on a $5,000 bond.
WTSP says “Bosque is expected in court on Tuesday when she’ll officially be charged. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, which is determining what to charge her with, will prosecute this case. Currently, Bosque is only charged with an adoption violation.”
Previous arrest
The Huffington Post reports that “The incident was not Bosque’s first brush with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. She was previously arrested in November of 2010 for attempting to steal copper wire from an old shrimp farm on Summerland Key. ”
Regarding the November 2010 incident, the Monroe County Sheriff Office’s blog says “The deputies found 27 year old Yoel Alfonso of Stock Island, 28 year old Kenia Bosque and 33 year old Jose Hidalgo, both of Miami. Alfonso admitted the three of them were there to take copper wire. There were tools at the scene and a bundle of wire, along with a bucket half full of stripped wire.
All three were booked into jail on charges of burglary and theft.”
Other Children in the Home
The Daily Mail says “Bosque was arrested at her home in Opa-Locka, near Miami, Florida and two other children found in the home were taken into care.” The children were placed with relatives.
