How Could You? Hall of Shame-Frednel Lambert

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Union, New Jersey, New Jersey DCF adoption specialist Frednel Lambert, 34, was arrested on Thursday December 15, 2011 and “charged with third degree endangering the welfare of a child, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced.”

“An investigation was launched in September after a parent of the alleged victim contacted a Springfield Police Department with allegations that Lambert had been sending sexually charged messages to her 15-year-old son. The alleged chats, conducted through Facebook, took place over the course of a two-week period. Lambert met the teenage victim through the church, officials said.

Lambert is being held on $35,000 bail at the Union County Jail and faces up to five years in prison if convicted of the charge, authorities said.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact Prosecutor’s Office Detective Patricia Gusmano at 1-908-527-4589 or Springfield Police Detective. Det. Jim Mortin at 1-973-376-0400.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. Lambert is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

“A New Jersey choir director was accused Thursday of sending sexually-charged messages to a teenage boy on Facebook.

Prosecutors said Frednel Lambert’s messages to the teenage boy on the social networking site were sexual in nature and strange.

“These were messages about his body and his personal habits and what happened was, this boy told his mother,” Union County Prosecutor Ted Romankow said. “He felt creeped out.”

Investigators said Lambert met the teenager at a Newark church, where he was a choir director. The 34-year-old was arrested Thursday at his home in Union after a three-month investigation.

“That’s just gross, very gross,” a neighbor told CBS 2′s Christine Sloan.

“The Union County Prosecutor said Lambert is no longer with the church, which he did not name to protect the teenager.”
