Puzzle of Reform

We want to be clear about what we feel needs to be reformed and in some cases formed in the adoption process. We created a puzzle picture that puts it all together. Feel free to use this picture on your blog or website to explain reform.

The REFORM puzzle has five parts of the adoption process that already exist that need reform: Education & Resources; Homestudy; Hague; Visa and Postplacement.

Two parts, unfortunately interwoven into adoption and foster care, need to be removed: Trafficking and Corruption.

As we said one year ago, we are not going to mince words. Two important parts don’t even exist, so they need to be formed: Accountability and Honest Representation.

Everything we do here has something to do with at least one of these concepts. We will point out the puzzle piece(s) that we feel are reflected in the stories we cover from this point forward and in our updates. We welcome our readers to add additional puzzle piece explanations to our posts, too.
