How Could You? Hall of Shame-Cynthia Hunter

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Murfreesboro, Tennessee, adoptive mother Cynthia Hunter, 43,  ” has been arrested after allegedly throwing a plate of Hamburger Helper in her 14-year-old son’s face, resulting in serious burns.”

She “was charged with felony aggravated child abuse. Her adopted son suffered second-degree burns and severe blisters on his forehead and left cheek during the incident on March 14.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said that the teen did not receive any medical until the following day from a school nurse.
His father took him to the doctor’s office after the investigation began.
The 14-year-old and two other adopted children were removed from the home by the Department of Children’s Services.
Hunter was released on an $8,000 bond. She was scheduled to be in court on April 18.
Hunter was a teacher at Thomas Magnet School in Shelbyville, but resigned her position on Tuesday. Parents at the school were shocked to learn of the accusations.
“She needs to resign and she needs to be charged for child abuse. I am totally against things like that,” said Thomas Magnet School parent Sondra Royse.”
