April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Child Welfare.gov lists six protective factors which are nurturing and attachment; knowledge of parenting and child development; parental resilience; social connections; concrete support for parents; and social and emotional competence of children.

Now think about how many of these are missing in adoptionland and then look at our How Could You? archive.

For our avid readers, you might have noticed some reduced posting over the past week and you probably put two and two together and realized that Rally was on Spring Break. For the hand-wringers who read the blog, sorry, your effort to pray me away has failed and I will be getting to your comments on the Blog-Gag-Me post soon.

Thanks to Crabbina and Reformatina for holding down the fort. During my absence, our most active post was on fire and I want to direct all of our readers to this most important post on the blog. It is a child abuse case from US foster care. The alleged perpetrator is Robert Gaskill. Our comments are at 139 and climbing. The information shared by the general public is outstanding and you will NOT find this information anywhere else on the web. Unbelievably, this case has not yet gone national. We are proud to be part of the effort to bring justice to this case.

Be prepared for a large number of posts this week including many new How Could Yous and an upcoming expose…
