How Could You? Hall of Shame-Macdilo Sparkman

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Boaz, Alabama, former group home worker Macdilo Sparkman who faces “charges of second-degree sodomy and second-degree sexual abuse stemming from a 2009 incident at Sparkman’s Boaz home didn’t appear for a sexual  abuse trial this week [July 11, 2012]  in Marshall County.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Abel said Friday that  Macdilo Sparkman did not appear in court Wednesday to  face charges of second-degree sodomy and second-degree  sexual abuse stemming from a 2009 incident at Sparkman’s  Boaz home.
According to Abel, Sparkman worked at a Volunteers of America group home in Etowah County at the time.

Sparkman had brought two teenage group home residents to  an Independence Day fireworks show in Guntersville. On the way back to Etowah County, Sparkman is accused of stopping  at his home in Boaz and abusing one of the boys. The other  boy was in the home at the time of the incident, but not abused, Abel said.

Marshall County officials have issued an alias writ of arrest for Sparkman and are actively seeking him.”
