Lawsuit: Adoption Ark

Each month, we seem to come across new, local, publicly-searchable sites for court case records and lawsuit filings. Kane County, Illinois has a search engine that you can plug a name or adoption agency into. Find it here. If you enter “Adoption Ark” into the “Name”, a 2009 case pops up as the first case. The last action was May 25, 2012 where one party was granted partial summary judgment but doesn’t say who. There is a status call on 8/24/12.

If you want to find other information about Adoption Ark, google “Adoption Ark” and “Pakistan”  and you will find a trail of information.

  1. I too was a victim of this place! I lost over 12 grand and I figured out they screwed things up before I went to Russia. They demanded all kinds of money in cash, the girl I went to see was NOT the one they showed me and the other girl with the correct information that they sent me WAS NOT even adoptable. Vlad told me she was to be adopted to Russian Citizens…I want my money back AND all the money I spent in Home Studies and everything else! Please help me…I am heartbroken and lost.

I am not surprised by what happened to you. Adoption Ark was formed by former Yunona Employees. They were in it for nothing but money. On top of that, they helped to establish Reece’s Rainbow. Nice organization [sarcasm intended].

Unfortunately, I do not believe that you can recover the monies spent. Adoption Ark has since gone out of business due to Russia closing adoption to Americans. I believe it was last year or the year before. Any money the agency made has since been spent and dispersed. Back in their heyday they sure raked it in.

I wish I could give you better news. They were scum.

    • Adoption Ark helped establish Reece’s Rainbow? I’d never. ever heard that before.

Do you have a link to details??? Inquiring minds want to know 😉

Ah, you caugt me in a gaff. Upon reading your post I grabbed RR’s 1023 which I obtained from the IRS a few months ago. A 1023 is an organization’s “initial filing application” when it applies for 501(c)(3) status.

There’s nothing major in RR’s 1023. They were incorporated in Georgia on July 21, 2006 as a domestic non-profit. Under its incorporation by-laws Article VI -Disssolution Clause 2) “Responsibility for grant distribution will go to Victoria Katz at About A Child…”

Therefore, I AM WRONG. It was About A Child not Adoption Ark. HOWEVER…and I need to check this in an old computer I have…Reece’s Rainbow is mentioned in Adoption Ark’s 990s.

I am sorry for the confusion. About A Child had a hand in RR. Let check again on the Adoption Ark/RR link. I know there was one.
