How Could You? Hall of Shame-Kraekwon Pierce et al.

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Staten Island, New York, a “group of teens ganged up on one of their housemates inside a Meiers Corners foster home Sunday afternoon, bludgeoning him with a wooden chair and a speaker, and slashing him with a screwdriver, police allege.

Authorities have arrested five youths in the aftermath of the noontime beat-down, which left the 18-year-old victim swollen and bloodied, with a broken arm, according to court papers.

The episode took place inside 72 Wellbrook Ave., according to court documents.

Kraekwon Pierce, 16, attacked the victim while he was in bed, punching him multiple times and causing the 18-year-old’s ear to start bleeding, authorities allege.

Four others then jumped in, authorities said — Alfredo Ramirez, 20, Everrod Mais, 16, Tyrone McNeil, 19, and a fourth, unnamed juvenile defendant.

Mais punched the victim, and Ramirez pummeled him with a speaker, court papers allege. McNeil, Pierce and the juvenile then pushed him to the ground and started kicking and punching him, according to court papers.

When the victim got up and tried to run out of the room, Mais slashed him in the back with a screwdriver, court papers allege. McNeil punched him in the face and knocked him down again, and Ramirez set upon him with a wooden chair, pummeling him several times with it, court papers allege.

Ramirez, Mais and McNeil were charged Monday with second- and third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree harassment, said Peter N. Spencer, a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.

Pierce is charged with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment, while the unnamed juvenile defendant’s case is expected to be handled in Family Court.

The city’s Administration for Children’s Services is also investigating the incident, an agency spokeswoman said Thursday.”
