“The Transit Center at Manas in Kyrgyzstan, a former Soviet republic, is a stopping point for military personnel on their  way to and from Afghanistan.”

Air Force’s 376th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron’s Calin Cronin is part of a group called Cops for Kids. He spent some time at the orphanage called  “Krasnaya Rechka – or “Red River” – Village Orphanage to play  with the residents, bring them food and work on improvement  projects.”

“On their weekly visits, the airmen played basketball and  soccer with the children, ages 6 to 17, and did work like  trimming the grass, clearing rocks from the playground and  installing new soccer goals, he said.”

“Some of the children are true orphans, while others are left at the orphanage seasonally when their parents can’t care for them, Cronin said.”
