How Could You? Hall of Shame-Florida DCF worker Katrina Darlene Dillon

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Florida, chalk up yet another arrest of a DCF worker . This time ex-employee Katrina Darlene Dillon 46, has been arrested on “charges that she falsified records and stole funds, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement report.” She faces “one count of petit theft, one count of grand theft, one count of official misconduct and one count of falsifying records. The alleged violations occurred in November 2011. Dillon resigned her position as a case worker during that same month.

An investigation by DCF’s Office of Inspector General showed that Dillon allegedly falsified visitation documents, claiming she had completed an in-home visit. Investigators also allege that Dillon used her state fuel card and phone for personal usage.

She did not reimburse the state for $4,497.50 for personal phone calls or for a $30.01 charge to her state fuel card for a gas purchase for her personal vehicle, FDLE agents allege.

The agents verified that Dillon document that she checked on a child at specific times when in fact she had not, the report said.

She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.”

“The relationship between FDLE and DCF ensures accountability and that the safety of Florida’s children continues to be a priority,” said Miami Regional Operations Center Special Agent in Charge Addy Villanueva.

“Anytime we believe one of our employees put a child at risk by falsifying documents, we report that immediately to FDLE so criminal charges can be pursued,” said DCF Secretary David Wilkins. “We will not tolerate these actions, and we appreciate our law enforcement partners helping us ensure the safety of children across the state.”  [Hmmm…where are the criminal charges on DCF worker Andrea “I don’t work weekends” Fleary of Nubia Barahona infamy ?]
