From Winnipeg, Canada, the now-19-year-old son of a foster carer admitted guilt on Thursday, January 31, 2013 to one count of sexually abusing his then-10-year-old foster brother from June 2011 to April 2012.

“The man is severely mentally challenged, with an IQ below 70. Court did not hear which child welfare agency was responsible for placing the accused and victim in the same home or how long they had been living together. [Why not? You really don’t want any accountability, do you?]

The abuse started when the man entered the sleeping boy’s bedroom and kissed him on the lips, Crown attorney Scott Cooper told court. The man stopped when the boy pushed him away.

On a later occasion,the boy awoke to the man performing oral sex on him.

The man admitted forcing the boy to perform oral sex on him five times. When it was over, the boy “ran downstairs and washed his mouth out with soap,” Cooper said.

The abuse included anal sex.

The boy finally disclosed the abuse to a play-time worker who notified police.

The man was arrested and released on bail. He returned to custody after he breached an order he abstain from alcohol.

Judge Lee-Ann Martin adjourned sentencing for the preparation of pre-sentence and forensic reports. The man will return to court May 31.”
