Rhode Island Father’s Rights Case
Of course the agency is unnamed.
“An 18-year-old Fall River man is claiming that he is the father of a 3-month-old girl and that a Rhode Island adoption agency will not let him have custody.
Noah Medeiros said he and his former girlfriend conceived the child when they were minors. He said that she never told him that she was pregnant and that she only told him about the baby three weeks after she was born.
Medeiros and his mother, Doreen Bain, are trying to raise money for a lawyer to fight for custody in Family Court.
Medeiros said he is in the process of completing a paternity test to further his case for custody and that a room in his Fall River home, which he shares with his mother, is already set up as a working nursery.
The case is set to be heard in Providence Family Court on Thursday morning.
In a statement, the adoption service said the agency always abides by Family Court decisions regarding parental rights in adoption cases.”
