From Pinch, West Virginia, CPS worker Kara Brumley,32, “admitted that both her and the 16-year-old had sexual intercourse one time at his house, and also told police it was common for her to visit him privately and talk to him on the telephone during late night hours.”
“According to a criminal complaint issued by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, police spoke with the 16-year-old male on Wednesday, May 7, about a possible sexual relationship between him and Brumley, who was the 16-year-old’s assigned case worker. He told police that sexual acts had occurred between him and Brumley over at least the last month.”
“Brumley is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.”

“Kara Brumley, 32, of Pinch, was arrested Thursday afternoon.
She is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy. She was the case worker for the boy at the time of the alleged assault.
Brumley was arraigned Thursday and is being held on $100,000 bond. She is being taken to the South Central Regional Jail.
For Brumley’s neighbors, the news is incredibly shocking.
“It’s terrible,” says neighbor Jay McDaniel. “I don’t know what to think. If it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.”
They say it also casts light on the system.
“She’s got access to these kids,” said McDaniel, “and as parents, we trust these people that are in these positions. We have to.”
Other neighbors, however, said it’s a sad situation for a faithful worker.
“There’s just nothing I can say against her,” said neighbor Ellen Asbury. “Wonderful mother. Wonderful parents.”
The Department of Health and Human Resources released the following statement Thursday: “DHHR is fully cooperating with the police investigation related to the arrest of CPS Worker Kara Brumley and will be conducting its own internal investigation. It’s very unfortunate that the alleged actions of one employee can cast a dark shadow over the important work that DHHR does every day to help protect the safety and well-being of our children.””

Update 3:”A woman is suing over claims her minor son’s caseworker had sexual relations with him.
J.W., a minor, by and through H.W., his next friend, filed a lawsuit Dec. 3, 2014, in Kanawha Circuit Court against the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Child Protective Services, Kara Brumley, Meaghan Goffreda, Aleighsha Niccole Evans, Home Base Inc. and John/Jane Doe.

Woman says DHHR caseworker had sex with son[West Virgina Record 1/23/15 by Annie Cosby]
I hate CPS. You should put this bitches name on the hall of shame as well. TIFFANY STEPP… She is well known and hated by the lawyers here as well and I hope she burns in hell. She was on a power trip, showing off for the cops and laughing as she stole my son out of the house. This piece of inbred shit should not be in this line of work. You don’t come into someone’s house, take their child and flirt, laugh with men while breaking up a family!!! The next day I received a report with nothing but LIES which I told her boss and the judge about. From what I understand, it’s common for CPS to lie here in Wyoming Co. WV. If they are doing right, they wouldn’t have to LIE.
