How Could You? Hall of Shame-Eldon Johnson UPDATED

From Gary, Indiana, group home worker Eldon Johnson,44, “charged last year with confining and abusing residents of group homes, has been charged with sexually assaulting two children at his residence during the last four years.”

He “faces charges that include rape, criminal deviate conduct and sexual battery in his latest case filed Tuesday in Lake Superior Court.

One of the victims said Johnson had been raping her since she was about 6 years old and living in Chicago, and the sexual assaults continued after she moved to Gary in 2010, prosecutors said.

The victim, now 21, spoke with a Child Protective Services caseworker who had received information from another teen about sexual abuse by Johnson.

The woman told police Johnson fondled her, forced her to have sex with him and to engage in sex with a brother while he watched. Johnson also is charged with sexually abusing the boy, court records show.

The victims told police that Johnson would give them money for necessities.

The woman said the abuse went on for so long that she began to think that the sexual relationship was normal and also feared that Johnson would carry out his threats to harm her if she didn’t comply with his demands, according to prosecutors.

In May 2013, Johnson was charged with neglect of a dependent, criminal confinement and battery based on allegations that residents of Gracie’s Tender Loving Care group homes in Gary were beaten, zapped with stun guns and confined against their will between November 2012 and January 2013.

Johnson is being held without bail in Lake County Jail on the newest charges.”

Update: A search of the Lake County, Indiana court case records shows that he had a jury trial that was canceled on 7/13/15 and he is awaiting the acceptance his  plea and sentencing on 8/20/15.
