Michigan Approves Legislation to Create a Foster Parents Bill of Rights

“The Michigan House Tuesday unanimously approved legislation to create a Foster Parents Bill of Rights to help ensure the protection of basic rights for foster parents and their families, state Rep. Ben Glardon announced.

House Bills 4649-50, which Glardon co-sponsored, ensure that foster parents are provided information such as the role of a child placing agency in the foster process, access to appropriate staff to assist in caring for a foster child in their care and timely financial reimbursement for the foster care services they provide.”
