How Could You? Hall of Shame-Jonathan Saavedra Dean case-Death

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Bakersfield, California, adoptive father George Dean ” was arraigned in Kern County court Friday for his alleged role in the murder of his adopted son.”

“George Dean was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder, conspiracy and oral copulation. The oral copulation charge is related to a sexual relationship George Dean had with one of the juvenile co-conspirators in the murder, according to police.

Dean entered the customary plea of not guilty to all charges and was ordered to be held without the possibility of posting bail.

His next court appearance was set for early December.

Last month, Eyewitness News reported that police were looking at George Dean under a “murder-for-hire” theory in the death of 29-year-old Jonathan Saavedra Dean.

Jonathan Dean was killed Aug. 10 on Silver Dollar Way.

Gabriel Rodriguez, 16, Timothy Lynn Hill, 17, and Eric Gonzalez, 22, have also been arrested and charged with murder.

Hill told police that Rodriguez pulled the trigger after he was paid $20,000 by George Dean, who Hill said wanted his adopted son dead after an alleged domestic incident, according to court documents obtained last month by Eyewitness News.

Gonzalez was arrested after police say he had conversations about the murder with Rodriguez, who may have been trying to recruit Gonzalez to kill Jonathan Dean.”
