Woman Seeks Mother

“A Florida woman from Indiana has gotten an online boost in the search for her birth mother.

Kelley Baumgartner of Jacksonville posted a photo to her Facebook page Saturday explaining her story. She says she was born on February 3, 1987 in the Goshen/Elkhart area as “Baby Girl.” Kelley was then adopted two months later through Catholic Social Services in South Bend.

She says her maiden name is Huston.

“Social media seems like the most reasonable outlet right now before I conclude my search. I’m hoping someone out here can either share my video, give me some information, or even some encouraging words, as so many of you have already done,” she said in a video posted to Facebook.

Kelley says she has learned her mother was in her early 20s when Kelley was born and that she was a hairdresser, possibly with seven siblings.

Kelley’s post has received nearly 7,000 shares on Facebook since she originally shared the photo.

“I feel grateful and overwhelmed with love from complete strangers. It is the best feeling in the world that I wake up and have tons of emails of just encouragement. I am excited to see where this journey leads, and even if it does not lead me where I wish, I truly hope my new found courage will help another adoptee or birth family! My words to other families is don’t give up, I read that in every email, just don’t, keep sharing your story!” Kelley told Eyewitness News.

If you have information to help Kelley, she asks that you email her at KelleyMarieSearch87@yahoo.com or check out her Facebook page.”
