From Towson, Maryland, foster mother Rebecca Johnson,”wife of Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.”

“Rebecca Johnson is accused of hitting her 25-year-old foster daughter, Lindsay, in their Harford County home.

The Baltimore County Police Department released this statement:

On June 1, there was a domestic incident involving Mrs. Johnson and her 25-year-old foster daughter. The young woman lives with Mrs. Johnson. Chief Johnson is deeply concerned about two people he cares about.

Chief Johnson was at work in Towson when this incident occurred and at his Baltimore County home at 8:26 p.m. when he learned of his wife’s misdemeanor charge.

The Johnsons have cared for Lindsay Johnson since she was 3 1/2 years old. They became her foster parents through Baltimore City Social Services. They were designated court appointed legal guardians on Lindsay’s behalf.

According to charging documents obtained by WJZ, the two began arguing and Rebecca slapped her daughter Lindsay across the face. It then escalated into an all-out fight.

Lindsay ran next door, where neighbors called 911.

When Harford County deputies arrived, they saw visible injuries.

Rebecca Johnson was arrested and charged with second-degree assault–a misdemeanor.”

“The Harford County Sheriff’s Office arrest report released to 11 News says Rebecca Johnson and her foster daughter, Lindsay Johnson, got into an argument. The incident report say the altercation started with an argument over paychecks.

According to the report, Lindsay Johnson told deputies that Rebecca Johnson slapped her across the face with an open hand and the two got into a physical fight.

The report indicates Lindsay Johnson broke free and went to a neighbor’s house to call 911. Investigators stated in the report that they observed injuries on Lindsay Johnson’s body, though she refused medical treatment.

Investigators said that Rebecca Johnson had scratches on her arms and neck when they interviewed her. The report indicates that she confirmed that there had been a confrontation but showed no emotion and said she “didn’t know” why she didn’t call the police.”
