From Miri, Malaysia, “Miri police have arrested a couple for suspected murder of a two-year-old baby they adopted.

The husband, in his early 30s, and wife, in her late 20s, are suspected of having inflicted serious injuries on the baby who died in the intensive care unit of the Miri Hospital at about noon yesterday.[July 3, 2015]

Police arrested the couple yesterday and have placed them in custody pending further investigation.

The case came to light following a police report filed by the hospital authorities.

According to the report, the couple rushed the baby to a private hospital in Miri City at midnight on July 3.

They personally sent the baby to the private hospital’s emergency unit.

The hospital immediately alerted the Miri hospital upon finding serious injuries on the baby and sent the baby to the Miri hospital where the baby was warded in the Intensive Care Unit.

The couple told the hospital authorities they adopted the baby last year.

They have a biological son of their own who is five years old.

The baby’s body has been sent to the hospital mortuary and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.”
