From Yucaipa, California, 68-Year-old Foster Parent, Stephen Darrell Taylor, “remained in custody Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting two female foster children.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Stephen Darrell Taylor, of Yucaipa, served as a foster family for the Arrowhead Foster Family Agency, Inc., with his wife between 2002 and 2008.

During this time frame, Taylor is accused of sexually assaulting two female foster children — who were between the ages of 5 and 11-years-old at the time — for several years.

The Taylor family eventually adopted the victims. The family resided at three different homes, located in the …, the …, and … in the Crestline Community.

Deputies said the children were removed from the Taylor family home in 2008 by San Bernardino County Children and Family Services due to allegations of physical abuse.

The sexual abuse was then reported to the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station, which was subsequently passed along to Crimes Against Children Detail as the case involved a certified foster family.

A preliminary investigation revealed about 27 foster children were placed with the Taylor family within the time period.[What???]

The Taylor’s subsequently lost their status as a certified foster family.

On Wednesday, a search warrant led to Taylor’s arrest for oral copulation, sexual intercourse with force, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and continual sexual assault of a child.

He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on $500,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Detectives explained they are concerned Taylor may have abused other children who were in his care.
