From Santa Fe, New Mexico, “Santa Fe police have arrested [Benjamin Anaya],a Children, Youth and Families Department employee, on allegations of attempting to have sex with a teenage girl.”

He “was paying girls between the ages of 12 and 14 for nude photos, and they investigated.”

“An undercover officer posed as a 14-year-old girl while chatting with Anaya online, and the two agreed to meet up for sex Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. Anaya was arrested, and rope and a comforter were found in his car, police said.

Detectives say Anaya confessed to everything except paying the girls for the photos.

“Mr. Anaya confessed to these crimes, and said he’s been talking to girls of this age for two years,” said Lt. Andrea Dobyns.

He contacted the victims via Facebook and text message, officials said.

Anaya has been charged with two counts of child solicitation by electronic communication device, criminal sexual communication with a child, sexual exploitation of children and sexual exploitation of children by prostitution.

A CYFD spokesperson said Anaya was with the department for 18 years, but is now on administrative leave pending an investigation. Anaya worked in the mail room, and not with children at any point during his tenure, the spokesperson said.”
