How Could You? Hall of Shame-Jordan Dorsey UPDATED

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Nashua, New Hampshire, “A former employee at the Nashua Children’s Home has been arrested for allegedly raping a teenager earlier this summer.

Police say Jordan Dorsey,  Lawrence, Mass., has been charged with one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault for the incident.

Authorities have not commented on whether the alleged rape took place at the Nashua Children’s Home at 125 Amherst St.

“I can confirm that he was — up until this investigation — employed there, and he was promptly terminated,” Lt. EZ Paulson said of Dorsey on Monday. Paulson refused to elaborate on the case.

Dorsey is free on bail, and will be arraigned Sept. 16 at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division. Paulson said Dorsey has not yet appeared in court, and that his bail was posted at the police station immediately after his arrest.

Members of the Nashua Police Department’s Special Investigations Division were informed of the alleged sexual assault on June 16 — the same day Dorsey’s employment with the Nashua Children’s Home ended.

“Upon further investigation it was determined that Dorsey sexually assaulted the 16-year-old female, and an arrest warrant was granted,” police said in a statement. “At this time, the investigation is ongoing.”

Police said the victim was known to Dorsey, and that the alleged offense occurred while Dorsey was employed at the facility at 125 Amherst St. Paulson would not comment on whether the assault occurred at the Nashua Children’s Home, nor would he say whether the victim was a resident at the group home.

“Due to the sensitive nature and ongoing investigation, I would never say anything to jeopardize the investigation or subsequent conviction,” Paulson told the New Hampshire Union Leader. “Our hands are tied, and I don’t want to cause the victim any more hardship.”

Dorsey was arrested without incident after turning himself in to police on Aug. 11, according to authorities.

More details may be released at Dorsey’s arraignment next month; however, there is the possibility that some court documents may be sealed because of the victim’s age, according to police.

“The Nashua Children’s Home remains committed to the care and welfare of New Hampshire’s at-risk youth, and continues that mission,” said David Villiotti, executive director of the organization.

Villiotti said he could not comment on whether the victim was a resident of the Nashua Children’s Home. However, he did state that the staff at the facility is helping all of the kids deal with the situation, and is supporting them during this sensitive time. Villiotti said that a background check was conducted on Dorsey, which included a fingerprinting process, at the time he was hired by the Nashua Children’s Home.

“All of the procedures were followed in this case,” he said, adding Dorsey was immediately terminated once allegations were reported. ”
