From Pahrump, Nevada, foster parent Derek Bayer,41, was arrested on “allegations of child abuse of a 12-year-old.

Investigators arrested 41-year-old Derek Bayer, who caused the injuries while disciplining the child. Bayer was interviewed and arrested due to the extent of the child’s injuries which were discovered at school.

Bayer was booked at the Nye County Detention Center with bail set at $10,000. He is facing charges of domestic battery and child abuse. ”

“Derek Bayer, 41, faces one count each of child abuse and domestic battery with strangulation. He is being held in the Nye County Detention Center.

The investigation by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office discovered that Bayer… caused the injuries while disciplining the child several days earlier.
