How Could You? Hall of Shame-Jason Oland

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Billings, Montana, 47-year-old Jason Oland,”a former disability services worker has been charged with exploitation after allegedly trying to begin a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old group home resident.”

“47-year-old Jason Oland was charged Thursday with felony exploitation of a person with a developmental disability. His bond has been set at $25,000.

Oland had worked for the disability services organization, COR Enterprises, when he met the teenage girl.

Court documents say the girl told police Oland had sent her nude photos and that they had held hands and kissed at her group home. She said she told Oland she couldn’t have sex with him.

Oland initially denied the allegations, but later said the teen was his girlfriend.

Oland’s attorney noted that Oland also has mental deficiencies.”

“According to charging documents, Oland met the 17-year-old resident while he was an employee with COR between October 2013 and February 2014.

The 17-year-old girl functions at the level of a 7-year-old and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Employees at COR said the girl was evaluated as having a high risk of being taken advantage of sexually or financially, according to charging documents.

Oland sent Facebook messages to the girl, including a picture of his erect penis. He also visited her at her group home where the two held hands and kissed, according to what the girl reported to police. She told Oland she couldn’t have sex with him because her mother said she couldn’t have sex until marriage. The girl also told officers she did not want to see Oland again, according to charging documents.

Oland first denied charges when confronted by Billings police officers, but later said the girl was his girlfriend.

Oland’s attorney Matthew Claus noted Oland also had some mental deficiencies and had been in special education classes throughout his schooling in Billings.”
