How Could You? Hall of Shame-Paige Brown

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Williams, Kentucky, foster parent Paige Renee Brown,51, “is in jail after police found two teenagers that were in her care intoxicated. One had to be taken to the hospital.

Police went to the Clifford Canada Road home for a welfare check. They say Greg Brown and his wife Paige live there with their three foster children.

The sheriff says that the youngest of the foster children felt like something was not right, so she called a biological parent who then called the authorities.[So the biological parent seems trustworthy and the foster parent does not?]

Upon arrival, police found the two teenagers intoxicated and took one to a local hospital.

Paige Brown was arrested and charged with three counts of Wanton Endangerment and Tampering with Physical Evidence after police say she threw away a bottle of alcohol.

Police say Greg Brown was intoxicated but not home at the time of the welfare check.

Greg Brown told LEX 18’s Evan Gorman that the children are no longer in their care.

Greg Brown has not been charged in the case.”

“One minor was sent to the hospital while the caretaker ended up in jail after reports that underage minors were drinking.

Paige Rene Brown, 51, of Williams, remains jailed in the Whitley County Detention Center under a $10,000 cash bond. She faces three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 10 p.m. Friday the department was dispatched to a Clifford Canada Road residence — the caller alleged that a foster parent was allowing minors to drink in the home and requested a welfare check.

Deputy Jonas Saunders responded and allegedly found two minors under age 18 under the influence of alcohol.

The sheriff’s office said that also in the home was another child under age 13, who was not intoxicated.

Saunders used a portable breath test to determine the approximate intoxication levels of the minors — one result sent that youth by Whitley County EMS to Baptist Health Corbin for further care.

During the course of the investigation, Saunders was told the foster parent, Brown, became aware that law enforcement had been contacted, and that she allegedly attempted to conceal evidence of the teens’ drinking.”
