Woman Defrauds Two Adoption Agencies

“A Key West woman is facing fraud charges after she accepted money from two adoption agencies while she was in jail, to help her during her pregnancy, detectives said.

In February 2014, one of the agencies, American Adoption Services, called the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to report that Crystal Dinklocker, 38, had taken money from their agency and from another agency, Adoption Angels, at the same time.

Detectives said Dinklocker told both agencies that they were the only company she was dealing with in relation to her pregnancy. They said Dinklocker also told her baby’s adoptive parents that she was only dealing with one agency.

According to detectives, Dinklocker was in the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island from April to November 2013 on fraud and drug-related charges while she was pregnant.

Jail records show both agencies and the adoptive family made payments to Dinklocker while she was in jail.

Dinklocker was located in August at a prison in Marion County. She was booked into the Monroe County Jail on Dec. 2.
