How Could You? Hall of Shame- Daylen Brown case-Child Death

From St.Louis, Missouri,”child abuse investigators are awaiting autopsy results on a 3-year-old boy who died after suffering cardiac arrest while in foster care.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the boy died Tuesday [December 8, 2015] at a hospital.

The boy’s name was not immediately released. St. Louis police spokeswoman Leah Freeman said the boy was a ward of the state, and authorities still are working to notify his relatives.

Police said emergency responders were summoned to a home about 3 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a toddler in cardiac arrest. The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital about seven hours later.

It is standard protocol to have child abuse detectives investigate sudden deaths involving children.”

Update: The name of the child is Daylen Brown. 

“The death of a 3-year-old boy in the care of foster parents here Dec. 8 has been ruled a homicide.

Daylen Brown, of the 3500 block of Illinois Avenue, died at a hospital at about 9 p.m. that day. Paramedics took him there in cardiac arrest, police say.

The St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide Tuesday, saying he suffered internal injuries.

Police would not say how they were notified of the toddler’s injuries, or whether any other children have been removed from the home.

No one has been arrested. ”
