This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Tracy, California, residential treatment facility worker Ariana Gonzalez Salas,25, “has been charged with sexual assault of a child and due back in court on Feb. 19.

Ariana Gonzalez Salas was arrested by Tracy Police in the city of Stockton on Feb. 4 and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

Tracy Police Sgt. Steven Beukelman said on Thursday, Salas faces seven counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and eight counts of oral copulation of a minor.

According to court documents the alleged incidents occurred on Jan. 15 and involved a victim referred to as 16-year-old John Doe.

The crimes allegedly occurred at a Valley Oak Residential Treatment Program facility, where Salas worked for the past four years as a swing shift counselor.

Facility Executive Director Greg Potts said on Thursday that Salas worked at all of their sites over the course of her employment, which includes a group home in Tracy. He said two weeks ago when he found out there may have been “boundary issues” he contacted the Tracy Police Department immediately.

“We’re sick to our stomachs,” said Potts. “Due to the sensitive and serious nature of this incident we’re not at liberty to discuss this issue; we’re working closely with Tracy Police Department to get to the bottom of this.”

Potts said Salas has been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to the facilities website, “Valley Oak Residential Treatment Program, Inc. is a 24-hour a day 36 bed program which provides specialized treatment for male and female adolescents, 10-17 years old. The program has 6 (6 bed) homes, 3 licensed at Level 11, and 3 licensed at level 14. The program is designed to treat emotionally disturbed and behavior disordered individuals. We have two homes in Manteca, and one home in Tracy, Modesto, Stockton and Ripon.”

Still in the custody of the county jail, Salas was arraigned Monday in the Manteca-branch of San Joaquin County. She appeared before Judge Doug Mewhinney with her attorney Armando Villapudua. The judge denied a request to have her released on her own recognizance and she was ordered back to Manteca court at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 for further arraignment.

Salas is being held on $1,550,000 bail.”

Update:”Prosecutors filed more charges against a woman accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy from a children’s residential treatment facility during her arraignment Friday in San Joaquin County Superior Court.

Ariana Gonzalez Salas, 25, faces four counts of unlawful intercourse with a minor and six counts of oral copulation of a person under 18, according to court documents released Feb. 19.

Her original charges, filed with the courts Feb. 8, identified her criminal charges as one count of unlawful intercourse with a minor and one count of lewd acts upon a child.

The criminal complaint states that the alleged incidents with the 16-year-old male victim occurred between December and Jan. 15 at locations that included a rural area near Tracy, a group home and the defendant’s house.

The incidents allegedly happened while Salas worked as a counselor for the Valley Oak Residential Treatment Program facility — which has a group home in the city of Tracy.

Stockton-based attorney Armando Villapudua represented Salas at her recent court hearing and requested a continuance of the hearing to 8:30 a.m. March 29. His request was granted by the judge.

Salas was arrested by Tracy police officers in the city of Stockton on Feb. 4. She remains in custody in San Joaquin County Jail. Her bail is $1,550,000.”
