How Could You? Hall of Shame-Theresa Jarrett

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Baker, Louisiana, group home worker, Theresa Jarrett, 58 “was booked on three counts of cruelty to the infirmed.”

She “left three boys alone in a van in the Plank Road Wal-Mart parking lot Monday.”

“A witness in the parking lot shot a roughly 10-minute video of two of the boys punching, kicking and spitting on a smaller boy in the back of the Ford van while Jarrett went inside the store, a Baker Police report says.

A Baker police officer identified Jarrett from the video and arrested her at the group home, which was not named in the report.

Jarrett told officers she left the boys in the van while she went inside Wal-Mart to pick up medicine, the report says.

Jarrett remained in Parish Prison Tuesday evening in lieu of $9,000 bail.”
