Tennessee Woman Charged with Embezzling Money From Bethany Christian Services

“A Bartlett woman has been arrested for embezzling more than $130,000 from her former employer, a Christian-based adoption service over a five-year period.

Rhonda Eastham, 51, who worked at Bethany Christian Services in Memphis, has been charged with theft of property over $60,000.

According to the arrest affidavit, Eastham allegedly stole the money between November 2010 and July 2015 from the agency that provides adoptions and family services.

Eastham is accused of taking money from donors checks and submitting fake invoices. She also used the agency’s petty cash account to cash 245 checks to herself.Smiley

She resigned in July after her boss discovered the theft. On March 24, she came to the Memphis police economic crime office where she confessed to the theft, according the affidavit.

Eastham was booked in Shelby County Jail East Monday where her bond has been set at $100,000. She will be back in court April 13.  ”

  1. I know we should feel bad that a thief likes this takes money from her employer…but since Bethany has been conning people for decades, I am shedding crocodile tears.
