From Hagerstown, Maryland, “Authorities say a 15-year-old boy from a therapeutic group home in western Maryland has died after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car in neighboring Pennsylvania.

David Swacina (swah-SEE’-nah) of Cedar Ridge Ministries tells The Herald-Mail (http://bit.ly/1To3oA4 ) that Elijah Allen was a resident of Cedar Ridge Children’s Home near Hagerstown.

He says Allen had gone with two other residents and a staff member Tuesday to pick up some donated bikes. He says Allen rode to the end of the driveway and was hit by car on Pennsylvania Route 416.

Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that the collision occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the southbound lane of the highway. Allen was pronounced dead at a Hagerstown hospital.

Swacina says Allen was from the Baltimore area.”
