How Could You? Hall of Shame-Anthony McClain
This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.
From Suffolk, Virginia, minister and foster parent,Anthony Mc Clain,55,”who pleaded guilty to 11 sexual assault charges earlier this year will spend 4 1/2 years behind bars. The victim in the case is a 17-year-old girl.
55-year-old Anthony McClain was facing 15 counts of aggravated sexual battery, five counts of indecent liberties with a child, and six counts of incest, but because he entered a guilty plea for 11 of the charges, prosecutors decided not to pursue the additional ones. The judge sentenced him to 41 years with all but four years and six months suspended. Upon release he will be on supervised probation for 15 years and good behavior for 41 years. The Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office also said McClain cannot have contact with the victim, unless she reaches out to him first.
Court documents say the abuse began in April 2015 and ended August 4, 2015 when police were called to McClain’s house. McClain told police the girl initiated the sexual relationship and that it was consensual, but the victim said it was a forced relationship.
According to testimony during the sentencing, McClain and his wife fostered and raised more than 160 children in Connecticut and Virginia – and adopted several of them.
McClain is listed as the pastor of “Something God Made Ministries Community Center Inc” on the organization’s website.”
Minister, foster parent sentenced for sexual assault of teen girl

REFORM Puzzle Piece
ARRGH! Even if the girl had “initiated” the relationship, it was McClain’s obligation as her foster parent to tell her “No” and report the sexual acting out to her caseworker for follow up! Are we supposed to believe this minister in his 50s was unable to resist a come-on from a teenager?
Not that I believe for one moment that the girl instigated the relationship. Look at who had the power in the relationship: It wasn’t the girl.
I hate when judges let affluent white guys off for rape with tiny sentences. Mind you, at least it’s better than the 3 months Brock Turner served. 🙁
Anthony McClain is black.
Well, I suppose that’s why he actually got a sentence that can be measured in years, rather than months./sarc
BTW, do we know the race of the victim?
No, we don’t know the race of the victim. On the Something God Made Ministries website all the children do appear to be black.I assume those are the kids who he fostered.
