From Sydney, Australia, a “teenage foster home girl was allegedly raped and held captive for a month by a man.

The 15-year-old girl only regained her freedom after police found her running in bare feet down a street in Blacktown, Western Sydney, during the early hours of Thursday.

Blacktown Local Court was told Bangladeshi national Rashadul Islam, 29, grabbed the girl and tried to pull her away before officers stepped in.

The girl told police Islam had allegedly sexually assaulted her and kept her against her will for four weeks.

It is understood he met the girl after she had left a Western Sydney group foster home last month.

On Thursday, Islam was refused bail on charges of aggravated sexual assault and common assault.

He is due to appear in Penrith Local Court on Tuesday.”
