From Loma Linda, California, “investigators arrested a Loma Linda man on suspicion of child abuse after he initially claimed his girlfriend’s foster son, 1, was hurt when the child fell down the stairs, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said Monday.

Jeremy Hall, 27, was arrested early Sunday, Sept. 16, at sheriff’s headquarters in San Bernardino, according to booking logs. Detectives were called to Loma Linda University Medical Center Saturday after a couple brought in the injured child for treatment, according to the sheriff’s department.

An examination by a forensic pediatrician determined the boy’s injuries weren’t consistent with information given by Hall and his girlfriend, officials said. At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives determined Hall had injured the child, officials said. Authorities did not say if Hall’s girlfriend was also being investigated.

Hall was booked into the Central Detention Center on suspicion of corporal injury to a child and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The case is still under investigation and authorities ask anyone with additional information to call the Specialized Investigations Division, Crimes Against Children Detail, Detective David Rayenhartz at 909-387-3615. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).”
