From Temecula, California, foster parent Yoko Issac, 43,”was arrested Wednesday morning on child abuse-related charges after a months-long investigation that began when a 3-year-old girl, in her care, was seen at an area hospital for injuries that appeared “suspicious in nature,” according to authorities.

The child-abuse case, launched in October when Temecula sheriff’s station deputies were called to the medical facility for the youngster’s injuries, now includes allegations of possible physical and verbal abuse of the child’s 11-year-old brother, also in the care of the suspect, Yoko Issac, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said

The siblings resided for the past two years with Issac in her family home on the 40000 block of Holden Circle in Temecula, deputies said.

“Over the course of the investigation, sufficient evidence was gathered to show Isaac physically and verbally abused the siblings while in her custody,” the department said. “The siblings were the only children in Isaac’s care and were relocated by social services during the investigation.”

A search warrant was served by the agency at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Holden Circle residence. Evidence reportedly connected to the abuse allegations was collected, and Isaac was arrested, deputies said.

She was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for suspicion of inflicting great bodily injury, torture and corporal punishment on a child.

Update: “A Temecula woman accused of abusing her two foster children pleaded guilty Saturday to torture and child abuse.

Yoko Isaac, 44, admitted the charges under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, and in exchange for her admissions, prosecutors agreed to drop a dozen related felony counts.

Superior Court Judge Mark Mandio scheduled a sentencing hearing for April 9 [2021]at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. The defendant is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside.

Her husband, Aaron Thomas Isaac, is free on bond and is slated to be arraigned on Feb. 9. He’s charged with two counts each of child endangerment and false imprisonment.

Yoko Isaac was arrested last December following a sheriff’s investigation that began after a 3-year-old girl the defendant was fostering was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that clearly had been inflicted, authorities said.

The investigation revealed Isaac had been physically and verbally abusing both the 3-year-old and her 11-year-old brother, neither of whom were identified, at her home in the …, investigators said.

The siblings were the only children in the defendant’s care and were ultimately placed in the custody of county Department of Child Protective Services staff.

The exact details of the abuse were not contained in the criminal complaint.

Isaac has no documented prior felony convictions. There was no information available regarding her husband.”

Temecula Woman Pleads Guilty to Abusing and Torturing Two Foster Children

Update 2:“A Temecula man, 48-year-old Aaron Thomas Isaac pleaded guilty Wednesday to false imprisonment after failing to prevent his wife from abusing their two young foster children and was immediately sentenced to 12 months probation.

Isaac admitted to the misdemeanor charge under a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. In exchange for his admission, prosecutors dropped four related felony counts.

Yoko Yessica Isaac, Thomas’s wife, pleaded guilty in April to torture and child abuse. The 45-year-old woman was sentenced to 11 years, four months in state prison. She was arrested in December 2019 after a 3-year-old girl in the couple’s care was taken to the hospital with injuries that authorities said were obviously inflicted.

Riverside Sheriff’s launched an investigation and discovered that Yoko Isaac had been verbally and physically abusing the 3-year-old and her 11-year-old brother at her home in the … Holden Circle, police and prosecutors reported. The children, who have not been identified, were the only kids under the foster care of Thomas and Isaac. Both children were removed from the home and placed in the custody of county Department of Child Protective Services staff.

Aaron Isaac was arrested at later stages of the investigation. It was unclear how involved the 48-year-old, who served in the military and has no documented prior felony convictions, was in the abuse of the children.

Superior Court Judge Judith Clark certified the terms of his plea deal and imposed the sentence stipulated by the prosecution and defense. No jail time was included in the agreement. However, Isaac will have to pay victim restitution, in an amount to be determined by the Department of Probation.”
