DOS: Temporary Cessation of Small World Inc. in China UPDATED
From here:
“On August 10, 2020, the Intercountry Adoption Accreditation and Maintenance Entity (IAAME) required Small World Inc. to temporarily cease providing adoption services in China. IAAME determined that it was necessary to take this action due to Small World Inc.’s failure to maintain substantial compliance with relevant accreditation standards. The cessation will remain in effect until Small World successfully completes corrective action as determined by IAAME.
During this cessation, Small World Inc. must cease to provide all Primary Provider services in connection with intercountry adoption cases in China. Small World Inc. is not required to transfer ongoing cases to another provider at this time if no adoption services will be provided during the cessation.
If you have an open case with Small World Inc., please contact them directly to find out how the cessation will affect your case. You may also wish to review the information on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ website at If Your Adoption Service Provider is no Longer Accredited or Approved.
Federal regulations authorize designated accrediting entities to review complaints and take action when it determines regulatory standards have been violated. The Department of State facilitates communication to the public about the outcome of accrediting entity determinations. Please direct any questions about this announcement to IAAME at www.iaame.net.”
