How Could You? Hall of Shame-Patsy, James, Anthony, Amanda Wyres

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Walker County, Alabama, four people were arrested for felony child abuse against foster children.

“The Walker County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Patsy Wyres, James Wyres, Amanda Wyres and Anthony Wyres.

The charges between the four people include:

• 4 counts of attempted murder
• 15 counts of aggravated child abuse
• 6 counts of DV strangulation
• 3 counts of tampering with a witness
• 3 counts of sex abuse

The sheriff’s office said the charges stem from foster children living in the home at the time the investigation began.

All were booked into the county jail.”

Four people indicted on charges including child abuse

“Patsy Cooper Wyres was indicted on two counts of attempted murder, seven counts of aggravated child abuse, three counts of domestic violence strangulation, and one count of tampering with a witness.

James Timothy Wyres was indicted on three counts of sex abuse 1st degree and two counts of aggravated child abuse.

Amanda Lynn Wyres was indicted on two counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated child abuse and three counts of domestic violence strangulation.

Anthony James Wyres indicted on three counts of aggravated child abuse, one count of domestic violence strangulation and two counts of tampering with a witness.

All four defendants are scheduled to appear in court Monday, May 15.”
