From Daegu, Korea, a “woman in her 30s, who was put on trial for neglecting an illegally adopted newborn baby to death and burying her body, admitted all prosecution charges in her first trial.
On the 24th, the Daegu District Court held the first hearing on two people, A (33, female) and B (29), who were arrested and charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes (child abuse death) at the hearing of the Criminal Department 11 (Chief Judge Lee Jong-gil).
At the trial, the prosecution explained the prosecution’s indictment and disclosed the details of the defendants’ crimes, which had not been revealed.
According to the prosecution, two defendants, including A, illegally adopted a seven-day-old girl on February 24 last year.
A and others pretended to be an institution that mediates adopted families in an open chat room for social network services, and in the process, they got to know C, the biological mother of an illegally adopted girl.
The victim girl showed symptoms of dyspnea from the day after arriving at her home in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi-do, where A and others live.
However, the girl continued to be left unattended without receiving hospital treatment, and was found not breathing 10 days later on the morning of March 7.
Instead of reporting it to 119, A directly searched the Internet for first aid methods and took measures such as removing heart massages and sputum, and the victim girl eventually died.
A, who usually raised about 10 dogs and cats, was found to have kept the girl’s body in a tree coffin that she had purchased for her pet funeral, and then buried it under a tree near her relative’s house in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, two days later on the 9th.
According to the investigation, A and others did not take them to the hospital for fear of illegal adoption, even though the victim’s condition continued to deteriorate.
On this day, A’s lawyer said that he admits all the prosecution’s charges.
However, B’s lawyer, who believes the prosecution conspired to commit the crime, did not reveal a specific position on the indictment, saying at the trial, “It is necessary to review whether B, who is in a relationship, is recognized as a guardian of the victim’s girl.”
He also said it was necessary to check the autopsy results to determine the causal relationship between B’s actions and the death of the victim girl.
The trial ended in about 15 minutes, and the court is scheduled to hold a second hearing on the 26th of next month.”
