How Could You? Hall of Shame-10-month-old Girl case-Child Death

From Albuquerque, New Mexico, foster mother “Denise Vazquez-Browley, 39, turned herself in to police on July 11,[2025] weeks after officers first responded to her home. On June 16, police said the 10-month-old had a seizure and died days later. [She died on June 20, 2025. ]

“Police said doctors diagnosed her with severe brain trauma stemming from abuse. Investigators later found that Vazquez-Browley had internet searches like “what to do if you want to bite your infant,” and they said she told a friend she felt overwhelmed.

In July, the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department confirmed with KRQE News 13 that Vazquez-Browley met with an early intervention specialist at a park, telling them she left the baby at home with her husband even though he was at work at the time.

She and her husband had four other foster children in the home at the time, along with their biological child. All were put in CYFD custody.”
