From Roxbury, North Carolina, “a grand jury in Person County indicted 49-year-old Latisha Annette Linzsey on a second-degree murder charge related to the homicide of Kemari Morgan, who was found unresponsive in his crib on May 24, [2025].”
“After the Person County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation into Morgan’s death, a subsequent toxicology report determined that the baby died as a result of “receiving a fatal dosage of multiple medications,” NCSBI officials said.”
““The Person County Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment, and Ms. Linzsey [Her foster parent]was immediately taken into custody.”
Linzsey is currently being held at the Person County Detention Center under a $300,000 bond, pending her first appearance in court.”
“The baby’s family members said Linzsey was the foster parent. Briauna said Kemari Morgan’s 3-year-old sister had been living in the same foster home, but she’s now staying elsewhere in state custody.”
“A judge had ordered Briauna [Kemari’s mother] to receive further substance abuse treatment, stemming from a pair of DWI convictions and a charge in March. Briauna said she’s fully complied in an effort to get her children back.”
