A 2022 case has come to light.

From Dundee, New York, Ronald Chilson, 48, a therapeutic foster parent,”is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing children under his care.”

“Chilson appeared in the Yates County Supreme Court on Jan. 27 to hear the following charges be read against him: two counts of third-degree rape (a class E felony), two counts of third-degree criminal sexual act when the actor is at least 21 years old and the victim is less than 17 years old (a class E felony), two counts of third-degree incest- engage in sexual conduct with related person (a class E felony), one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person (a class E felony), and one count of forcible touching- touch the sexual or intimate parts of another person (a class A misdemeanor).

The district attorney’s office stated that this was the second time charges were brought against Chilson for the alleged abuse that occurred between 2022 and 2023. Chilson was arrested on July 24, 2024, on the following charges: two counts of first-degree sexual abuse when the actor is more than 21 years old and the victim is less than 13 years old (a class D felony), one count of first-degree criminal sexual act- victim physically helpless (a class B felony), one count of second-degree criminal sex act when the actor is more than 18 years old and the victim is less than 15 years old (a class D felony), and one count of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child (a class D felony).

District Attorney Todd Casella is informing people that they can report suspected abuse or neglect against children by calling the New York State Central Registry Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-342-3720 any time of day, and they can stay anonymous.”

“On October 15, 49-year-old Ronald Chilson of Dundee was indicted for predatory sexual assault against a child. According to authorities, the victim was a child under 13 years old.

If Chilson is found guilty, he is expected to be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.”
