“My name is Danielle, thank you for taking the time, to check out my story, A TWIN CONNECTION. At the age of 7 months, I was adopted from South Korea by my two amazing parents. Having been raised in Seattle WA my whole life, the Pacific Northwest is where I call home. I found out I have a twin sister at the age of 10. My mom received a letter in the mail from my birth family, requesting that my twin and I be allowed to connect, and build a relationship. Ever since, we have kept in contact through letters, but it never satisfied my curiosity about who this person was. For the first time this June, I have the opportunity to reunite with my twin in South Korea. The sooner I am able to reunite with her, the sooner I can finish writing my book A TWIN CONNECTION, and get it launched. Publishing my book would mean a lot to me. It would be the first step of a greater journey, that I have only been able to dream about. But it’s time to turn dreams, into reality. It is my hope that with your support, I can raise the funds, which would allow me to take this first step. To me, this opportunity is once in a life time. I hope you will join me!

Timeline: It is my hope, that by the end of June 2013, I can return to Korea. Upon my return, I will continue my research of the Korean adoptee community, as well as interview other adoptees, twins, and traditional Korean families. I will also be in the process of wrapping up my book, and hope to do so by the end of this year. Ultimately, I hope to self publish A TWIN CONNECTION no later than June 2014!”

“If you read his awesome guest post from a couple of weeks ago, you know that my good friend Dan Matthews, a musician and generally cool guy, has been in Korea this summer on the journey of his life.
Dan, a Korean American adoptee who grew up in California, recently went on a search for this birth parents… and found them. He not only has a biological family in South Korea, where he traveled to meet them for the first time, Dan also has a twin brother. Whaaaaat. Needless to say, this has been an identity-altering trip.
And the cameras have been rolling. aka Dan is a documentary project following Dan’s journey to Korea for the International Korean Adoptee Association, performing his first live concert in Korea, and of course, his reunion with his birth family. The project will also include a full-length music album inspired by his experiences.”
