  1. Based on the information I have read concerning the laws to protect Native children the decision to grant the adoption of Veronica is absolutely WRONG.

    • Thanks for your comment. The law for protecting Native children was broken from the beginning when Nightlight Christian Adoptions failed to follow through on the required procedures for ICWA. Now, the family court opted out of considering Veronica’s best interest. It is a very dangerous precedent that has been set. This year both Minnesota and South Carolina have opted to give children to strangers over fit relatives. This is NOT what adoption should be about. Adoption should be about giving a family to a child who is in need of a safe one.
