A 2024 case has come to light.

From Miami, foster parent Kimberly Gilcrease-Johnson was “arrested on five child neglect charges and one child abuse charge and her bond was listed as to be set.”

She “became upset with a 4-year-old foster child in her care due to the child leaving the home.

Police said Gilcrease-Johnson, 52, hit the child with a set of keys, causing a cut above his right eyebrow.

Officers later spoke to a 12-year-old child who lived in the house and that boy told officers that, in addition to the incident with the 4-year-old being hit by keys, that Gilcrease-Johnson is physically abusive to the children in the home, there is also no running water in the home and that he was not provided sufficient nutrition.

According to police, there were five children in the home, ages 12, 11, 8, 4 and 3.”
