Lawsuit: Rutledge Youth Foundation and Mallori Reardon-Child Death

A 2023 case has come to light.

“Amanda Sleek of Winchester filed the wrongful death lawsuit against Rutledge Youth Foundation and Mallori Reardon of Murrayville in the death of her her daughter, Emma Sleek, who died on July 10, 2023.”

“In the complaint, Sleek said her two children were taken into protective custody in August 2020 by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and placed in Reardon’s care’

“Sleek alleges Rutledge Youth Foundation failed to properly vet Reardon’s competence as a foster mother.”

“Reardo also denied the allegations, saying Emma had never complained of a headache until July 9,2023.”

“She denied a claim that she did not call 911 on the day of Emma’s death.”

“Reardon acknowledged she used cannabis prior to its legislation for recreational use and methamnphetamine with Sleek and had not disclosed it to Rutledge Youth Foundation.”

“Sleek in seeking at least $50,000 in damages.”
