How Could You? Hall of Shame-Lisa Pittman

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Shreveport, Louisiana, foster parent Lisa Pittman “was arrested on one count of Cruelty to a Juvenile.

From SPD:

“The Shreveport Police Department takes crimes like these very seriously. It is our duty as a community to protect our children and break the cycle of abuse. If you suspect child abuse or neglect, please report it immediately to the proper authorities.”

“SPD started an investigation and later found out that the teen was at a local hospital. The juvenile had gone to the hospital to report alleged abuse by his foster mother. The child claimed that Lisa Pittman had forced him to sleep on a dog bed or yoga mat, kept him from using a shower or toilet, and forced him to use the bathroom outside in a bucket. The hospital staff admitted the child and kept him safe until Police could come.

Child Services went to Pittman’s home and found that she was fostering 3 other children. DCFS was able to take the 3 children and interview them. The children confirmed the treatment described by the 15 year-old.”
