From Valatie, New York, group home worker Andres Lima “faces multiple felony charges following allegations he sexually abused a 14-year-old female resident over a five-month period.

Andres Lima of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was arrested on Sunday after an investigation by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston.

Lima worked at the Kinderhof Group Home in Columbia County.

State police began investigating in March 2026 and determined the abuse occurred over five months.

Lima faces 20 counts of second-degree rape involving vaginal sexual contact with a person under 15, and 15 counts of second-degree rape involving oral sexual contact with a person under 15. All rape charges are class D felonies.

Additional charges include first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, a class D felony; criminal possession of a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony; four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, class A misdemeanors; and second-degree harassment, a violation.

Lima was arraigned on Monday in Columbia County Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail. Bail was set at $35,000 cash, $70,000 bond or $85,000 partially secured bond.

The investigation involved assistance from the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, Troop C Child Advocacy Center, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the Pittsfield Police Department.
