Teenage Group Home Resident Charged
This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.
From Columbia, Missouri, Foster child Trammond Roberts,17, was arrested “on suspicion of first-degree statutory sodomy after alleged abuse was reported to the state social services department, Detective Tom O’Sullivan said.”
“Trammond Roberts is accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old boy May 24 at the group home where they live in the 5900 block of Limoges Drive, O’Sullivan said. He remains at the Boone County Jail. Bond has not been set.
Deputies were dispatched to the group home around noon yesterday to investigate the claim, which came via a tip to a Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division hotline.
“I don’t want to get in to too much here, with it being a juvenile victim and the issue of the group home, I’ve got to be a little bit more confined to what I can say,” O’Sullivan said.
Roberts was being held at the jail because of an incident Friday night at the group home, O’Sullivan said. Deputies went there about 5:15 p.m. after Roberts allegedly attacked another resident in the back of a car as they were returning to the home with two staff members, O’Sullivan said.
After they got out of the car, Roberts allegedly fought with a female staffer as she was calling 911, breaking the door to the home in the process. Roberts was arrested then on suspicion of third-degree assault and property damage.
The allegations of statutory sodomy mark the third recent criminal incident in which Roberts has been accused. He was arrested March 30 on suspicion of resisting arrest and third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. Roberts allegedly tried to take a deputy’s gun as deputies were conducting an investigation on Limoges Drive.
In relation to that incident, Roberts was released from the Boone County Jail on April 2 after an initial court appearance.”
